  • Identify and analysegood practice in multi-use of green infrastructure;
  • Fully engage Managing Authorities on the socio-economic benefits of green infrastructure to influence new projects and improve governance of policy instruments;
  • Increase the professional capacity of key stakeholders in delivering new projects;
  • Develop Action Plans focusing on policy change to influence strategic investment in green infrastructure based on its multiple benefits.

Roof garden at the Joze Plecnik High School Ljubljana

The little terrace made on the roof of Joze Plecnik High School in Ljubljana is part of the good practices of the PERFECT project.

Not having a courtyard or open space, the teachers and high school students decided to design a terraced garden.

A 50 m² roof garden was created on the school terrace in the center of Ljubljana through a series of workshops.

For the implementation of the project, all specific roof growth conditions (e.g. exposure to wind and sun, drought and soil drying, winter frosts) have been taken into account to encourage plant growth.

This has created in the students a new awareness towards the environment representing a real open-air classroom, a laboratory to discover nature.

The little terrace allows socialization opportunities among students.
